Convoro works without any, but three commands are worth scheduling: purchases:sweep if you sell anything, privacy:prune, and search:reindex if you use an external search backend.

Nothing breaks without a scheduler. These are worth having:

  • php tools/convoro purchases:sweep — hourly, if you sell anything. Reports sales that got stuck and access that has lapsed.
  • php tools/convoro privacy:prune — daily. Clears out expired data exports so they are not sitting on disk indefinitely.
  • php tools/convoro search:reindex — only if you use an external search backend. On the default MySQL backend it correctly does nothing and says so.

🚨 Anything Convoro does that reaches another server is kept out of a visitor's request on purpose, with a small number of deliberate exceptions — starting a payment, and the AI assistant answering — where the outbound call is what the visitor asked for. Those have hard timeouts and fail visibly rather than hanging the page.
